The case is unprecedented, the Yandex company is the only techno. a giant that doesn’t use UX/UI construction in job titles.

The analysis was carried out according to data 10,000 records WayBack Machine pages https://yandex.ru/jobs/vacancies/as well as the current list of vacancies as of January 31, 2024 (snapshot pages). For quick access, all requests and separately selected positions of designers are summarized in table.

A large share of records refers to the period 2021-2024. However, entries earlier (2015) also do not include UX/UI design.

Of the total volume of records, only 443 refer to the “Designer” topic. 287 of them are written in Cyrillic.

I ranked designers related to the design of services/interfaces, and not serving other tasks: marketing, content tasks of industrial design, both through the naming of vacancies and their description in controversial situations. 264 positions were clearly identified, 91 of which have English names (including the oldest records)

In addition to the designers themselves, there is also recruitment, far from “these subtleties of yours” and “higher matters”, there is no desire to simplify life and collect more reviews for a more converting request, no, but it may appear.

Corporate culture and its components act as a filter and censor in such cases. According to Theories of memes or Memetics, such an aspect can be the “level of education”, which is not only in itself, but also with the help of dedicated mentors, lecture halls, equipment and relevant KPIs – is spread and supported in the company among all members.

A meme is like a gene, a minimal unit of information. But unlike a gene and a biological species, a meme describes a cultural aspect. The theory of memes was put forward by Comrade Dawkins in 1976. Active since then is developing.
