Wolvic Chromium – a browser for AR systems is out

The developers presented the Wolvic browser, which is based on the Chromium engine and is designed to run on AR systems. Prior to that, the project team worked on a version of Wolvic based on Mozilla Gecko (formerly Firefox Reality).

The browser is adapted for use on virtual and augmented reality helmets. All control is carried out with the help of special controllers or with the help of an eye tracking system. You can enter data using a virtual keyboard or voice.

The developers also included more than 18 new virtual environments in the browser. In addition, we worked on the stability of the Chromium engine, implemented support for new versions of operating systems, and added OpenXR support.

Examples of virtual environment

Wolvic Chromium is available for Quest 2/3/Pro, Oculus Quest, Pico 4/4E, Huawei VR Glass, Huawei Vision Glass, Magic Leap, VIVE Focus, Lenovo A3 and Lynx R1. For tests, the browser can be launched simply on an Android smartphone.
