Windows 10 will receive a redesigned “About system” section with more detailed PC characteristics

In Windows 10 build 19045.5070 (KB5045594) for the Release Preview and Beta channels, we found an update for the About section in Settings. Judging by the screenshots posted by user PhantomOfEarth on X, the section now shows a lot more information about the PC’s specs: video card model, video memory capacity, storage and drive model.

There’s also a small FAQ section where users can learn more about their computers, such as how much RAM affects performance, what’s the latest version of Windows, and more.

According to Neowin, citing changelog for build 19045.5070, two feature IDs must be enabled using ViVeTool for the updated section to work.

In August, Microsoft released an update to the Windows 10 taskbar that significantly increased the space occupied by the MSN feed. So, on a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop with a resolution of 2560×1600 and a layout set to 150%, the tape took up about 60-65% of the desktop space.

In March, Microsoft rolled out more widgets to the Windows 10 lock screen. They include information about traffic, sports, stocks, and more. Widgets can be seen in the News & Interests pop-up menu. Each contains a link to the details which, when clicked, opens the MSN site.
