Two 2GIS programs have been released for the Vision Pro mixed reality headset from Apple

2GIS has released two apps for Apple’s Vision Pro mixed reality headset. Both programs can be downloaded from the Vision Pro Marketplace. The first application has the standard functionality of 2GIS applications. The second is the 2GIS Immersive application, which allows using a headset to drag in space and view realistic 3D models of buildings, for example, the Moscow Kremlin, the building of Moscow State University, or the Kazan Cathedral located in St. Petersburg.

At the start of sales, 600 applications from around the world were approved for the Vision OS operating system. The start of sales took place on February 2, 2024. In Russia, the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset will be sold from the beginning of March 2024 at a price of approximately 500,000. Pre-orders for Vision Pro are already open in some Russian stores.

On January 26, 2024, the company that owns the 2GIS service, through the Moscow Arbitration Court, achieved recognition of the illegal removal of the 2GIS application from the Google Play application store. According to the court’s decision, Google is obliged to restore the program on the territory of Russia and the CIS countries, as well as return access to the [email protected] e-mail. For each day of non-compliance with the court decision, a fine of 100,000 rubles is imposed on Google, doubling every week.
