The user assembled a laptop with the iron of a full-fledged desktop PC
A user from China assembled a laptop based on the iron of a full-fledged desktop computer. You can run demanding games and software on the device, but this assembly together with the power supply unit weighs 8 kilograms, which makes it difficult to transport the laptop.
The device is based on the Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor and the ROG STRIX B650I motherboard. The RTX 4090 video card is responsible for graphics processing. In addition, the project uses two 32 GB DDR5-6800 memory sticks and an Intel Optane P5800 SSD. The sound is output to a self-made acoustic system from two 20 W speakers.
All this is placed in a plastic case, and the image is displayed on the usual laptop display on the lid. The main disadvantage of the device (besides its weight) is the lack of a battery. The laptop works only from the network, so you won’t be able to play on the road.
The author of the project said that without the power supply unit, his device weighs 6.7 kilograms, but together with it, the weight reaches 8 kilograms. On the plus side, the enthusiast notes that his laptop is still in the backpack.
