The third Starship test flight is scheduled for March 14, 2024

SpaceX has scheduled the third launch of its Super Heavy launch vehicle and Starship spacecraft for March 14. Information about it appeared in the company account in X along with the link to the live stream. This week, the rocket underwent a full refueling test.

SpaceX has not yet received a launch license from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), so the date of the event was chosen approx. The company will announce the official date after obtaining the permit.

Nevertheless, SpaceX is actively preparing for the flight and weeks spent tests with full fuel loading (4.5 thousand tons). The company has not reported any complications or problems, which suggests that the system is ready for a third launch.

The previous Starship flight took place on November 18, 2023. It ended with the Super Heavy exploding over the Gulf of Mexico after one of its 33 Raptor engines failed after a stage separation.

The FAA’s investigation into the incident found 17 violations to be corrected, including ten for the Starship and seven for the first stage Super Heavy. According to SpaceX, the necessary changes have already been made.
