We conducted a study to determine which banks have been the most in demand by Freelancehunt contractors and customers over the past six months.

For the first 6 months of 2023, PrivatBank, Monobank, Raiffeisenbank, Sberbank, FUIB were the most popular among freelancers. Here you should pay attention to several interesting points:

• Despite the decrease in the share, PrivatBank is still the most popular among Ukrainian freelancers. It is chosen by 51.14% of users.
• At the same time, Monobank is becoming more and more popular – it is used by clients of Privat and other banks. The share of Monobank in the first 6 months of 2023 increased to 40.4%.
• Raiffeisenbank partially regained its popularity among freelancers in the first half of 2023 – the figure rose to 1.39%. Sberbank is still losing its positions: compared to last year, the figures fell from 1.25% to 1.11%.

To track the dynamics of trends and changes in the market, based on Freelancehunt research, we compare the data for 2021, 2022 and the first half of 2023.

The leading place among freelancers in 2022 was occupied by PrivatBank — it was preferred by 53.49% of performers. However, in 2021 this figure was higher by 7.12% – 60.61%.

The popularity of Monobank is growing: its performance increased from 31.39% in 2021 to 38.5% in 2022. FUIB was in the top five – in 2022, 1.16% of Freelancehunt service providers chose it for settlement transactions. Sberbank continues to gain momentum: indicators increased from 1.10% in 2021 to 1.25% in 2022. Raiffeisenbank is losing popularity in 2022: 1.27%, compared with 1.7% in 2021.

Customers have a similar situation: PrivatBank is in the lead, while Monobank is gaining popularity. The indicators of the first 6 months of 2023 confirm this: PrivatBank has 54.82% as opposed to 55% in 2022, and Monobank has grown from 31.5% to 33.81%. We also note the rapid increase in demand for Raiffeisenbank – in 2022, the figure was 1.21%, and for 6 months of 2023 – already 1.75%. FUIB, on the contrary, showed quite good growth last year, and now it is losing ground. Fewer customers are also choosing Ukrsibbank.

As we can see, Privat and Mono remain the most popular freelance banks. The trigger for changes in 2022, of course, was the war, which led to a redistribution of market shares among the leaders. In 2023, the trends continued, but the pace slowed down significantly.
