The experts explained the need to transition to the digital transformation of the state and the data economy

Today, there is a constant increase in the volume of information and an increase in requirements for the speed of its transmission and development. The dynamism of digitalization processes of all types of activities and the use of a large amount of information dictate the need for a radical transformation of production and consumption management methods and technologies based on digital technologies and data.

A group of scientists of MTUSI analyzed the problem and identified the reasons and factors for the transition to the digital transformation of the state and the data economy.

“It is possible to define four groups of basic interconnected digital technologies that determine the digital transformation of the economy and society. All of them have revolutionary significance for the economy and people’s daily life, information perception, methods of production and consumption, medical diagnosis training, transport, tourism and culture.”– noted the dean of the Faculty of “Digital Economy and Mass Communications” of MTUSI, Candidate of Economic Sciences. Evgeny Vakhovsky.

High rates of technological development contribute to the evolution of technology, which brings even more significant changes to the economic and social spheres, opening up new opportunities for innovation, production and consumption, improving the quality of life and solving global problems, including environmental ones. Scientists of MTUSI formed their view on the evolution and trends of technology development.

Figure 2. Evolution and trends of technology development

“The systematic solution to the tasks of the national program “Digital Economy” made it possible to obtain not only positive results of their early implementation, but also to provide a technological base with a high potential for further development. In general, in the country, all indicators of national goals were exceeded, the level of digital maturity was 65.8%, the share of mass socially significant services in electronic form – 99.97%, the share of households with Internet access – 86.1%.”– explained the head of the department “Digital economy, management and business technologies” of MTUSI, Doctor of Economics, associate professor Tatiana Salyutina.

On average, more than 329 million terabytes of data are created every day in the world space. Big data statistics show that 70% of all data in all sectors of the economy is generated by users. The vast majority of such data, 90%, is unstructured: e-mail correspondence, messages in social networks, audio, video, Internet searches.

Thus, the scientists of MTUSI identified the main reasons for the transition to the data economy:

– growth in the volume of fees and processed on the basis of corporate information systems;

– use of big data technology to optimize sales and production;

– Application of data-based decision-making tools;

– development of data collection technologies based on the Internet of Things;

– Business interest in the development of the data market, obtaining access to state data.

Analytical materials and the results of the multivariate forecast of the growth of volumes of information necessary for the production and life of people confirmed the natural nature of the transition to the data economy and the continuity of the achieved results of the technological and social development of the digital economy.

The research was carried out by the dean of the Faculty of “Digital Economy and Mass Communications” of MTUSI, Candidate of Economic Sciences. Yevhen Vakhovskyi, head of the Department of “Digital Economy, Management and Business Technologies” of MTUSI, Doctor of Economics, associate professor Tetyana Salyutina, professor of the Department of “Digital Economy, Management and Business Technologies” of MTUSI, Doctor of Economics Tetyana Kuzovkova and Associate Professor of the “Digital Economy, Management and Business Technologies” department of MTUSI, Candidate of Economic Sciences. Olga Sharavova.
