The developer turned the Ubiquiti c Etherlighting switch into a 24×2 RGB LED display with the ability to run various games
Developed by Adam Jezek presented project of a 24×2 RGB LED display from a Ubiquity UniFi Pro Max 48 switch (with Etherlighting technology) with the ability to run on a network device (or even two switches at once) various simple Python games, including “Snake” and a game like T-Rex Dinosaur (as in Google Chrome browser). The source code of the ubnt-etherlighting project is published on GitHub.
Some simple scripts to have fun with Ubiquiti Etherlighting switches.
The code is pretty rubbish, no effort was made to clean it up before publishing. Use at your own risk,” Jezek clarified.
According to the manufacturer’s description, Ubiquiti switches with Etherlighting technology have onboard RGB color indication for ports with the possibility of configuring port display, which provides visual appeal and practicality in network management. And with the UniFi Controller, users get full control over each port, allowing for detailed network configuration and optimization, including the use of color coding to demonstrate different states and functions of network ports.
