The Apple Vision Pro does not support a hot-swappable battery, and uses 12-pin Lightning to connect it

A small number of Apple Vision Pro headsets are already in the possession of bloggers and they are studying the device in detail. It turns out that the system does not support hot swapping of the battery, and the 12-pin Lightning port is used to connect the battery to the device.

The Vision Pro’s battery capacity is 3166 mAh. This is enough for about 2-3 hours in video playback mode. At the same time, it is emphasized that the headset does not support hot battery replacement. If you turn it off, the device will turn off immediately.

At the same time, the journalists managed to disconnect the power cable from the battery to the headset. Initially, it was reported that this would not be possible. In practice, the cable is held using a lock, which is opened with a paperclip to remove the SIM card.

The cable connects using a 12-pin Lightning port, which Apple has never used anywhere else. In other devices of the company, an 8-pin connector is installed.
