Task completion date (date)

Task completion date (date)

An expensive spoon for lunch, and there at least under the bench

According to the article What is a task? task completion date (date) is the fourth mandatory attribute of any task.

Hence, the catch: what is a task term? Why is it needed? Why not do without it?

The answers are necessary to be able to competently define this attribute of the task, formulate and identify it. And also to achieve fulfillment.

Is the task due date about when the task is due?

When it means “date”, that is, by what date the target result of the task must be received. It is about a specific calendar date.

As of a certain calendar date, we will conduct an Assessment of the Degree of Achievement of the Targeted Result of the Task (OSDCRZ).

A task without a deadline is not a task.

It was said above that the task is necessary to complete it. But it is important to complete the task not at all, sometime, in an uncertain future. And then when needed.

Hence the term creates temporal definiteness. Sets the end of the activity. Sets the speed of reaction to any events and circumstances. Forms the pace of work of the team that is performing the task. Which allows us to predict when we will get the result.

The term increases the responsibility of the task executor. Clamps it in a rigid framework. Forces him to allocate his resources and time in such a way that he has time to complete the task before the deadline. Forces to be active and intensify efforts. Including in terms of task decomposition and delegation of subtasks and actions to other employees.

The term determines the value and usefulness of the result. After all, any result loses its value and usefulness later on. Often there are even situations when the result is valuable and useful at a certain point in time, and after the end – it becomes useless and no one needs it. As they say, “at least under the bench”.

The term is also necessary for the coordination of employees among themselves. The term targets the responsible executor at the moment from which he may experience adverse consequences. Orients the customer of the task to the moment when he can request its CRS and start applying it in his work.

Therefore, the term directly affects the guaranteed performance of tasks. Especially when the responsible executor knows for sure that no one will forget about the deadline. At the right moment, they will certainly ask and certainly demand the Central Administrative Court. And in case of delay, responsibility is guaranteed.

The UPZ has mechanisms for determining the deadline for each task. In the process of their delegation to employees.

The terms of execution of some target tasks depend on the terms of execution of others. Therefore, there are mechanisms for calculating and recalculating the terms of target tasks. Depending on their duration and the completion date of previous target tasks.

In this determination of the term of execution of process tasks, more complex mechanisms are used than those of target tasks. By linking them to the triggering events, to the durations and start dates of the tasks. Or by linking to the last calendar date of their completion.

To simplify this, the automation of the formation of deadlines for the execution of all process and target tasks is used.

In addition, there should be a measure of responsibility for overdue tasks. Otherwise, no responsibility will work. Therefore, it is not enough to set a deadline for the task, it is also necessary to establish the remuneration of the responsible executor of the tasks on time. For this purpose, the UPZ has created a mechanism to stimulate the completion of tasks on time.
