Slack introduced the option of transferring conversations in channels using AI
Slack has launched a Slack AI tool that can summarize discussions and deliver personalized search results. The technology will allow highlighting the key points of conversations and summarizing long conversations.
Slack began testing the option last year. In an internal analysis, the company found that users spent about 97 minutes each week searching for answers and generating ideas in Slack.
Slack AI will allow you to learn about a new marketing campaign or project, familiarize yourself with company policies, find internal subject experts, and gather information about past decisions.
In addition, Slack AI provides users with “feed summaries”. This option will summarize everything that has been posted to the channel in the last week or selected date range.
The company clarified that it does not use user data to train its large language models.
Slack also added support for the Notion, Perplexity, and PagerDuty platforms. Users can now receive content summaries whenever they share links on Notion AI. With Perplexity, they’ll follow relevant topics and receive updates in Slack channels. PagerDuty Copilot integration will allow users to receive important information and guidance on various tasks.
The company also mentioned some features that are under development. These include channel digests, built-in integration with Salesforce’s Einstein Copilot, a conversational AI assistant built for CRM applications.
Slack AI works in English and needs to be purchased as an app. So far, only users of the Enterprise plan have had access to the option.
Previously, Slack had a Catch Up message sorting option, reminiscent of Tinder swipes. When you click on Catch Up at the top of the app’s main page, Slack will show the user a new message that can be scrolled left to mark it as read or right to leave it unread.
