Report on the 54th conference of the faculty of PM-PU of SPbSU / Habr

The conference is a review of the works of students and graduate students of the faculty, an opportunity to speak at a serious scientific event for the first time and to publish your first scientific article.

The conference has been held in the traditional format for 54 consecutive years, since 1969. Its format has changed a little in different eras, but the main thesis, laid down in it by the founder of the faculty of PM-PU, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Volodymyr Ivanovich Zubov, remains unchanged: “The most important priority is the need to involve students in scientific work at the early stages of education.” And it was then that the idea of ​​organizing such a scientific conference arose, in which reports would be made by students and graduate students. This provision is preserved, and its number is 54, when the faculty is 54 years old, indicating that the traditions of the faculty remain intact.

The author of the article also regularly spoke at it: as a student, graduate student and teacher of the faculty.

For many years in a row, the conference was opened by Volodymyr Ivanovich Zubov himself. Since 2001, Dean of the Faculty Leon Aganesovich Petrosyan began to do this.

This year’s conference was opened by the plenary report “One-dimensional models of blood flow in large vascular systems” by the young Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Gerasym Volodymyrovych Kryvovichev.

His report talked about the fact that mathematical models of blood flow have been widely used in recent years to analyze the consequences of cardiovascular operations and to study the characteristics of currents in vessels with the presence of pathologies. To simulate flows in vascular systems, most works use one-dimensional models obtained by mediation of the equations of hydrodynamics of the cross section of a vessel. The report is devoted to the analysis of various one-dimensional models and the features of their practical implementation. In particular, new models are presented that take into account the non-Newtonian properties of blood.

So what is blood and vessels as modeling objects?

A comparison of models on the problem of simulation of currents in the human arterial system was carried out. The task of developing new difference schemes based on the splitting method for efficient computational experiments is considered separately.

After this excellent plenary talk, the staff and speakers moved on to work on their chosen sections.

According to the results of the conference, the best speakers from among students, masters and postgraduates receive well-deserved prizes.

Also, an innovation of this conference was the holding of master classes by teachers of the IT field and graduates of the faculty from among the employees of Russian IT companies. The sponsors of the conference presented prizes to all the winners and the best student, who showed himself at the master class on “MyOffice” products, for the good performance of the tasks.

Nomination “The best scientific work of an undergraduate student”

The subject of the report: “Construction of a functional with a given derivative for a system with
distributed parameters”.

Abstract. In the modern world, quite a large number of models contain partial differential equations. So, for example, equations of the parabolic type are well known in mathematical physics, in addition, they are found in problems of population dynamics analysis. The method of Lyapunov-Krasovsky functionals can be used for their research. In this work, for the equation of the parabolic type with uniform boundary conditions, we construct
a functional with a predefined negative definite quadratic derivative. It is shown that this functional can be constructed according to the Lyapunov functional matrix, the main properties defining this matrix are found, and its explicit form is presented for an exponentially stable system. Some of the techniques used in this study can be further transferred to the case of the time-lag equation arising in population simulations.

The topic of the report: “Real-time control of a manipulator robot with an external measuring system as an observer.”

Abstract. The work describes the problems of using manipulator robots in the production of high-precision operations. The algorithm of the developed external control system is presented, which, using measurements from an external observer, adjusts the position of the manipulator robot with the help of a PID controller and the numerical solution of the inverse problem of kinematics to reduce the positioning error. The modernization of the control system in the form of filtering measurements from an external observer using linear filters is considered. The results of the application of the management system in practice are presented, and further research on this topic is briefly described.

The subject of the report: “Uniform segment distribution problem for linear multi-agent discrete systems with switches and delays.”

Abstract. The work solves the task of building a decentralized protocol for uniform placement of agents on a given segment, the dynamics of which is described by a linear discrete system. It is assumed that the agents receive information only about the distances to some of their neighbors on the right and on the left with an individual delay in the protocol for each connection. The possibility of switching between communication topologies is taken into account when, for example, agents lose contact with current informants. It is known that in the continuous case the convergence to a uniform distribution does not depend on the delay value and the choice of switching law. The result is also verified for the discrete case of agent dynamics and demonstrated on an example.
