Video hosting YouTube has increased the prices of its Premium subscription in 16 countries. Both individual and family plans rose in price, in some cases up to 55%. In the summer, the company raised prices for Premium in the US.

According to a YouTube subreddit, the list of countries where prices have increased again is as follows:

Ireland, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium:

• Individual plan: from €11.99 to €13.99 ($16.46);

• Family plan: from €17.99 to €25.99 ($30.58);

Switzerland:

• Individual plan: 18.71 to 21.06 Swiss francs ($24.78);

• Family plan: 23.90 to 33.90 Swiss francs ($39.88);

Denmark:

• Individual plan: from 119 to 139 Danish kroner ($20.8);

• Family plan: from 177 to 259 Danish kroner ($38.76);

Sweden:

• Individual plan: 119 to 149 SEK ($14.65);

• Family plan: 179 to 279 SEK ($27.43);

Norway:

• Individual plan: from NOK 119 to NOK 169 ($16.12);

• Family plan: NOK 179 to NOK 269 ($25.65);

Czech Republic:

• Individual plan: from 179 to 209 Czech crowns ($9.31);

• Family plan: from 269 to 389 Czech crowns ($17.33);

Singapore:

• Individual Plan: S$11.98 to S$13.98 ($10.83);

• Family Plan: S$17.98 to S$27.98 ($21.67);

United Arab Emirates:

• Individual plan: AED 23.99 to AED 26.99 ($7.35);

• Family Plan: AED 35.99 to AED 48.99 ($13.34);

Malaysia

• Individual Plan: 17.90 to 20.90 Malaysian Ringgit ($4.97);

Saudi Arabia

Indonesia:

• Individual plan: 59,000 to 69,000 Indonesian rupiah ($4.55);

• Family plan: 99,000 to 139,000 Indonesian rupiah ($9.17);

Colombia:

• Individual plan: 17,900 to 20,900 Colombian pesos ($5.03);

• Family plan: 26,900 to 41,900 Colombian reais ($10.09);

Thailand:

• Individual plan: from 159 to 179 Thai baht ($5.44);

• Family plan: 299 to 359 Thai baht ($10.90).

By comparison, in the US, individual YouTube Premium costs $13.99 as of July, and $22.99 for family, which is less than in some countries after the increase.

“This increase made YouTube the most expensive streaming service. It costs more than Amazon Prime, Netflix and HBO combined.” – notes one of the users from Denmark.
