OpenAI opened the registration of new users of ChatGPT Plus again

OpenAI has resumed registration of new ChatGPT Plus users. A $20 subscription gives you access to ChatGPT even during peak hours, more responses per day, and early access to new features and improvements.

In late November, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced that the company would stop accepting new ChatGPT Plus subscribers because “user growth has outstripped OpenAI’s technical capabilities.” After that, some users started renting out their ChatGPT Plus accounts on eBay for as little as $10 a month.

On November 7, OpenAI held its first developer conference, DevDay. At the event, the company presented a new AI product that allows developers and companies to customize ChatGPT for specific needs and products. The company also introduced the previous version of the GPT-4 Turbo model with the base updated to April 2023. As a request, it allows you to wash up to 128 thousand tokens, which is equivalent to 300 pages. The performance of the model has been optimized, so the cost of incoming tokens has decreased by three times ($0.01) and outgoing tokens by two times compared to GPT-4 ($0.03).

ChatGPT has over 100 million weekly active users. OpenAI reported that more than 92% of Fortune 500 companies use its platform, up from 80% in August.
