Notes have appeared on Steam, which can be used to add a scope for CS:GO sniper rifles

Short description

Valve has released a major update to its Steam client, which enables players to pin notes on top of the game window. This feature has enabled gamers to add a crosshair to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), making sniper rifles easier to aim without using their primary sight. To incorporate the crosshair, players can create a note with 50% transparency, with the “*” symbol, in the middle of the screen, using the scope of the sniper rifle as a guide. Valve has said the new option allows gamers to keep notes about the game available offline, and is synced between all computers with the same account.

On April 28, Valve released a major update to the beta version of the Steam client, in which it was possible to pin notes on top of the game window.

Players who have tested the new option have found that it can be used to add a CS:GO crosshair. This allows sniper rifles to be aimed without using their primary sight.

In order to add a crosshair to the screen, you need to create a note with 50 percent transparency and enter the symbol “*”. Then you need to place it in the middle of the screen, using the scope of the sniper rifle as a guide.

In addition to notes, a dot in the center of the screen can be added through special programs and software used by monitors.

The developers only note that you can format the text in the notes. The new option, they say, allows you to keep several different notes about the game and is available offline. Notes are tied to games and synced between all computers with the same account. You can find them in the game’s overlay and on its library page. Overlay windows can be docked to appear on top of the game, but this only applies to their content (without the title box and other interface elements).

On March 22, Valve officially unveiled Counter-Strike 2 with redesigned maps, improved graphics, more realistic smoke grenades, and faster game servers. The game was developed on the Source 2 engine, and the release is scheduled for the summer of 2023. The studio said that Counter-Strike 2 will be available as a free CS: GO update, and users will keep purchased in-game items.

Valve will not allow players banned for CS:GO violations to play CS2 on the same Steam account.
