NASA will investigate the conditions for life on Jupiter’s moon

This was reported by NASA.

Yesterday, October 14, the launch of the spacecraft took place. It launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The Europa Clipper is NASA’s largest spacecraft designed for a mission to another planet. The dimensions of the spacecraft reach 30.5 meters in length, and in width with a wingspan – almost 200 meters. Together with fuel, it weighs about 5,900 kilograms.

Scientists believe that deep under the ice crust in Europe there is a huge salty ocean, in which there is twice as much water as on Earth. They note that this is probably the most promising place in our solar system for active extraterrestrial life.

NASA’s Europa Clipper mission is to find out if Jupiter’s moon and its ocean can support life. It is the largest interplanetary spacecraft created by NASA. The probe is about 16 feet tall and, when its huge solar wings are deployed, stretches 100 feet across. It weighs three and a half tons.
