A record number of pink flamingos – 1,114 individuals – arrived in the Tuzlivski Lymani National Park in Odesa.

Photos of exotic birds were published on the page of the national park on Facebook.

“So far, this is the largest number of these birds recorded by scientists on the territory of the Park. Almost all are adults, but there are also some chicks this year. “Several birds were ringed with white rings (it was not possible to determine their origin), and one bird had a blue ring, this guest is an Italian”, – said in “Tuzlivsky Limany”.

Let’s add that in the spring to Odeshchyna flew in about 200 pink flamingos nesting here all summer.

Tuzliv estuaries — a group of lagoon-type salt estuaries in Ukraine, in the coastal part of Bessarabia. The estuaries are included in the National Natural Park, created by the decree of the President of Ukraine on January 1, 2010. They are located on the territory of the Belgorod-Dniestrovsky district of the Odesa region.

The park is home to more than 40 species of rare species of birds, which are listed in both the international and the Ukrainian Red Book. For some birds, estuaries are a kind of “transfer station” on the way to Asia and Africa, some nest and winter right in estuaries. In recent years, birds of rare migratory species have been flying to the Tuzliv estuaries. In particular, pink-winged flamingos.
