Made at Intel

Made at Intel

Hello everybody. I hasten to inform you that the Made at Intel book has been published. It mainly consists of processing the series of articles of the same name on Habrรฉ. But also includes several Bonus Tracks. ๐Ÿ˜‰

In general, publishing a book, especially the first one, is another quest. It begins with a painful search for a publishing house that will somehow be interested in your work. Someone simply does not respect authors without a name, family and tribe. You do not suit someone in terms of subject matter at all. Someone has similar series, but some “filing” is needed. I was offered to add a dozen more chapters and turn the book into a sincere story about the thorny path in IT of a guy from a working district. After thinking about it, I refused, offering the boys to turn to Charles Perrault for the fairy tale about Cinderella. ๐Ÿ˜ In the end, we more or less reached an understanding with RuDa publishing house. But the difficulties did not end there. It turned out that publishers look at books in a completely different way than authors and readers. Content worries them last (just kidding, of course). ๐Ÿ˜ I care more about the number of pages, margins and footers, paper size, number of photos, cover format, etc., etc. And each of these moments requires approvals, sometimes painful ones.
In general, this is a difficult process, and there are enough subtleties in it. But even now I will not tire the esteemed public with their description (who is interested – write in a private message). The most important thing is that in a few months we managed to walk this path together, and the book saw the light of day.

You can buy at Labyrinth, My-Shop and the publishing house’s website. I hope other sites will catch up soon. The online version is available on Litres.

I am planning several presentations where you can get a copy with a signature and well wishes from the author. The plan is as follows – Monday (February 7), Moscow (probably February 17 or 18), St. Petersburg (March 2). But here it can still change three hundred times – so if you want to get in, follow the updates in my Telegram channel.

That’s all for today, and until the next meetings in Habra. They will soon. Our IT campus is being built much faster than I can describe this process. Need to speed up ๐Ÿ˜
