LinkedIn is launching its first AI agent that will take on the role of a recruiter

LinkedIn has revealed details of its new AI-powered Hiring Assistant tooldesigned to help recruiters. This tool is capable of performing a wide range of tasks related to recruitment: from compiling detailed job descriptions to finding and interacting with candidates.

Hiring Assistant – This is the first “II-agent” from LinkedIn, focused on recruiters. The tool is currently available to a limited number of customers, including major companies such as AMD, Canva, Siemens and Zurich Insurance. LinkedIn plans to expand access to more users in the coming months.

LinkedIn has long used AI in its algorithms to make more accurate recommendations for users, but the development of generative AI has prompted the company to improve its interface solutions as well. Thanks to a close partnership with OpenAI, the platform has already implemented a number of AI tools, including marketing campaign assistants, text coaches and candidate selection assistants that work on the basis of GPT.

Hiring Assistant – the latest and most significant technology in this direction. According to Hari Srinivasan, VP of Product at LinkedIn, this AI tool takes over routine tasks so that recruiters have more time for strategic work. The tool allows you to upload or create job descriptions, highlight key skills, and automatically select suitable candidates based on their professional competencies, not just parameters such as residence or education. In the future, LinkedIn plans to expand the functionality of the assistant, adding the ability to exchange messages, schedule interviews and interact with candidates at all stages of hiring.

Importantly, unlike other LinkedIn AI tools, Hiring Assistant is focused on B2B segment of the companyin particular, in the field of personnel selection. LinkedIn does not disclose current financial figures for its Talent Solutions division, but it is known that in July 2023 its revenue amounted to more than $7 billion.
