Kioxia released the world’s first 2 TB microSDXC memory card. This is the maximum for the standard

Kioxia released the world’s first microSDXC memory card with the maximum capacity possible for this standard – 2 TB. The novelty was named Exceria Plus G2 microSDXC 2TB. The manufacturer showed a prototype of this memory card last fall, reports Tech News Space.

The drive was made with BiCS FLASH 3D proprietary flash memory and Kioxia proprietary controller.

The novelty uses 16 TB flash memory crystals (128 GB each). And all this fits into a device with a thickness of only 0.8 mm.

The Kioxia Exceria Plus G2 microSDXC 2 TB memory card corresponds to UHS Class 3, Application Performance Class A1 and Video Speed Class V30. This indicates that the new product offers a data transfer speed of at least 30 MB/s. The manufacturer indicates a maximum sequential read speed of 100 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 90 MB/s for the memory card.

Currently, the Kioxia Exceria Plus G2 microSDXC 2 TB memory card is only available in the Japanese market. The manufacturer hopes to be able to offer it for sale in other countries in the future.
