Intuitive Machines showed photos of Odysseus against the background of the Earth
The company Intuitive Machines published several images of the lunar lander Odysseus against the background of the Earth. The device took a selfie while heading to the moon.
Module handed over pictures on February 16.
The images were taken shortly after separation from SpaceX’s second stage.
SpaceX launched Odysseus on a Falcon 9 rocket from Pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on February 15.
The 675 kg module will deliver six NASA instruments and commercial cargo to the Moon. It should land on the Earth’s satellite on February 22. If the mission is successful, it will be the first successful landing of an American spacecraft on the moon for the first time in more than 50 years.
