At the beginning of each quarter, we look at how companies hired IT professionals in the previous period. This study is about IT hiring in the third quarter of 2024. We found out which specializations and qualifications were actively sought, who had the most vacancies, and where they responded most often. And we also have a lot of data on current salaries in IT — you can always view them in the Habr Career calculator.
Of interest: during this period there was a record increase in vacancies over the last year – +16% relative to second quarter of 2024 — in total, it was possible to respond to 12,029 vacancies. Of them 62% – vacancies with deletion.

Who hired
As in ours annual rating of IT employersWe do not compare large companies with thousands of employees to small startups. The ranking of hiring companies is divided into four groups based on the size of organizations: huge (more than 5,000 employees), large (1,000-5,000 employees), medium (100-1,000 employees) and small (10-100 employees).

In this ranking, we collect the top 3 companies from all on Habr Career, which posted the most vacancies in the third quarter of 2024.

Who was hired?
In this block, we look at the specializations and qualifications that were most searched for in the 3rd quarter of 2024.
Vacancies in specializations
We collected all the vacancies that the companies published in the 3rd quarter – we remind you that there were 12,029 of them – we selected the specializations that were searched for more actively than others and collected the top 5.
The most popular specialization at Habr Career backend: 2288 vacancies. In second place are vacancies for system analyststhere were 1238 of them.
For devops engineers and test automation engineers posted 640 and 536 vacancies, respectively. For frontenders last quarter there were 438 offers.
Vacancies for qualifications
The chart below shows the most searched qualifications on Habr Career.
Half of the vacancies in which qualifications were indicated were for middles – 5026. For seniors – 3181, and for leads – 774.
The number of vacancies for interns continues to exceed the number of offers for juniors: 655 to 463.
And on Habr Career, you can see how much specialists from various professions and qualifications are currently earning. For example, in the first half of 2024, middles received an average of 174K, and juniors – 75K.
Effective vacancies
We study the jobs that received the most reviews per view per quarter – we call this performance.
The most effective vacancy in the 3rd quarter of 2024 on Habr Career was from Okko, which was looking for a Middle+/Senior iOS developer. 250 people viewed the vacancy, 103 of them responded.
Vacancies from CHILLICODE and OshchadZdorovya are in the second and third places.

As we thought
It is not very difficult: to see how many vacancies the company published in the third quarter of 2024 (July, August, September), we took data from our service. We compiled all the vacancies that could be responded to during this period, then looked at who posted them, and divided the employers by company size. And then simply selected the companies that posted the most vacancies in the 3rd quarter and brought them to you.
To calculate effective vacancies, we also needed data from our service, which is able to calculate the effectiveness of placements – the number of reviews divided by the number of views. We only had to choose vacancies with a high index.
And in order to make diagrams by specialists, we took all vacancies for the period and filtered them according to the criteria we needed: specializations and qualifications.
