Google renames Bard to Gemini / Habr

Android application developer Dylan Roussel published a large changelog for the Google Bard AI AI tool. The chatbot will be renamed Gemini thanks to the support of the company’s new model.

Gemini introduced the Gemin family of models in late 2023 and has already begun integrating them into some of its products, including the Bard.

At the same time, the paid Gemini Advanced level will be available, as well as the Gemini app for Android. Gemini Advanced will give users access to the Gemini Ultra 1.0 model, which is “capable of solving highly complex tasks, including coding, logical reasoning, following detailed instructions, and creative collaboration.” The level will be available in more than 150 countries and initially optimized for the English language. Gemini will also work in Canada.

The changelog is dated February 7. Probably, they will be carried out already in the coming week.

At the beginning of the month, Google already renewed Bard. It has received support for the large language model Gemini Pro, as well as the Imagen 2 model for imaging.
