Electronic Arts liquidated a legal entity in the Russian Federation

Short description

On March 31, 2023, Electronic Arts (EA) closed down its Russian legal entity “Elektronik Arts” LLC, which had been registered in Russia since 2007. EA’s co-owners were Dutch-based Electronic Arts Nederland BV and German-based Electronic Arts GmbH. Experts predict that future games by the American game developer and publisher may not have Russian dubbing. The closure of the representative office will also pose a challenge for EA’s regional partners and players who will miss out on bonuses. EA announced it would stop selling its games in Russia and Belarus from March 2022 and ceased business operations in Russia in November.

eliminated

Russian legal entity “Elektronik Arts” LLC.

The co-owners of Electronic Arts LLC were the Dutch Electronic Arts Nederland BV and the German Electronic Arts GmbH.

Experts believe that future Electronic Arts games will now be released without dubbing in Russian. According to them, the closure of the representative office in Russia will complicate the work of Electronic Arts’ regional partners: they will not be able to promptly contact the company to resolve issues related to technical support, and players will lose bonuses.

The Russian company “Elektronik Arts” LLC has been registered in the Russian Federation since 2007. Its employees were engaged in marketing and promotion of games on the market of the CIS countries. Now this direction has passed to the staff of Electronic Arts, which is located in the company’s office in Poland.
