Canonical announced the codename Ubuntu 25.04. The project was named Plucky Puffin (Brave Dead End) and was officially launched on October 17.
Bezikhido is a genus of birds of the chastidae family that live in the sea and most often feed by diving into the water. One of the features of dead ends is a brightly colored beak during the breeding season. They live on the coasts of the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. They nest in holes in bird markets.
Ubuntu 25.04 (with Python 3.13, binutils 2.44, LLVM 20 and newer Linux kernel series) is scheduled for release on April 17, 2025. This version of the project will be supported until January 2026. If you want a more stable build, your best bet for now is Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (release with extended support until April 2029) or Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (support until April 2027).
On April 25, 2024, Canonical released the stable release of Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (long-term support release) Noble Numbat.
Ubuntu 24.10 Oracular Oriole was released on October 10.
