Biometric fare payment testing will begin at MCD stations

Testing of the biometric fare payment system will begin at four stations of the Central Railway Station, reports “Izvestia” with reference to Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport Maksym Liksutov. Payment is planned to be launched in the first quarter of 2024 at the following stations: “Nahabino”, “Zelenograd-Kryukovo”, “Lyhobory” and “Square of Three Stations”.

In the first stage of testing, “payment by person” will be approved by employees of the Moscow transport complex to test the system in the case. Then passengers will be connected to the test.

At the moment, in Moscow, payment by biometrics works at all metro stations, MCC, river transport and Aeroexpress. In 2023, the Moscow Metro began the process of registering the “Poglyad” brand for biometrics and fare payment systems. The Metropolitan Police planned to rename the biometric payment system from Face Pay to Pay with a look as early as 2022.
