BBEdit 15 code editor released with ChatGPT support and new file minimap
The developers at Bare Bones have released an update to the BBEdit 15 code editor, which adds integration with ChatGPT, improved the code hint viewer, and redesigned the file card. BBEdit is available exclusively for MacOS.
The main innovations of BBEdit 15:
added a new mini-map of the file, which helps to better navigate large documents;
the ChatGPT Worksheets feature appeared, with which users can request a chatbot from OpenAI in the code editor interface. Each dialogue is saved, allowing you to return to it later. The function requires a personal OpenAI API key;
completely redesigned the interface of the Text Factory tool for converting text. Now all interface elements and buttons for accessing functions are more convenient.
The project website states that BBEdit can only be installed on a device running macOS. An individual license for new users will cost $60. If you upgrade from version 14 or 13, you will have to pay $30 and $40, respectively. Users can download a monthly subscription version of BBEdit from the App Store.
