At RTU MIREA, the Ministry of Digitization offered to create cyber-intelligence schools for specialized students in Russia
The Russian University of Technology (RTU MIREA) proposed to the State Department of the Ministry of Digitization within the framework of the national program “Digital Economy” to create cyber-intelligence training centers called “Cyber-Intelligence Schools” for training and countering specialized students against the growth of IT-crimes.
MIREA assumes that graduates of such schools will be able to apply for guaranteed employment in the country’s largest companies and state organizations for IT-related positions.
According to mass media, from 2014 to 2022, the number of IT crimes in the Russian Federation increased 50 times (from 10,000 to 510,000). A special risk of this type of crime is for system development companies and digital government services. In this regard, the task of systemic development of cyber intelligence acquires a special role.
MIREA specified that experts of the cyber-intelligence system will collect and analyze data on potential threats from internal and external sources, and will also be able to detect and prevent cyber-attacks. Their learning process will consist of three elements: acquiring knowledge about threats from various sources, accumulating and actively applying the collected information, and having a platform that aggregates the accumulated knowledge. MIREA University is ready to act as a pilot site for the implementation of a new IT project.
“By 2024, it is planned to open 15 support centers of the National Cyber Polygon in Russia. Currently, there are seven support centers and one educational center. The exercises conducted within the training ground are aimed primarily at the investigation of crimes that have already been committed,” says the letter of MIREA of the Ministry of Statistics.
Previously, the RTU MIREA suggested that the Ministry of Digitization mark the content created with the help of neural networks, as well as create a federal catalog of IT cooperation for import substitution projects.
In the fall of 2023, a laboratory for the study of software products of the Astra Linux family was opened at RTU MIREA as part of the creation and implementation of a comprehensive program of training and retraining of specialists in system programming.
