Also, traditionally, after a day – public betas of iOS 16.5, watchOS 9.5, tvOS 16.5, macOS 13.4 were released, these updates are available for installation for users under the beta testing program.

The public beta version is completely similar to the developer version

What’s new in watchOS 9.5 Beta 3:

Mention and images of the strap and dial have yet to be released. The release is expected next month.

And on Monday, the security patch for iOS and iPadOS 16.4.1 – Security Response (a) (20E772520a) became available for all users.

Also, the response to security threats was released for all Mac users: macOS Ventura 13.3.1 Security Response (a).

This is a new format for system security updates, which will supplement the main update with the necessary fixes, without waiting for the release of the main software update

If you get a similar error when trying to install iOS Rapid Threat Response 16.4.1 (a) – don’t worry, as it turns out, this update is gradually rolling out to each user one at a time over a period of up to 48 hours.

Music for Windows 11 has received an update

Apple has updated the design of the AirPods Pro 2 packaging and details about the Beats Studio Buds+ have become known

The new Beats Studio Buds+ have hit Amazon. The headphones will be available from May 18 for $169.95 in 3 colors – clear, black and ivory.

Beats Studio Buds+ will receive support for spatial audio, improved noise reduction and transparent mode, up to 36 hours of operation when using a USB-C charging case, 4 interchangeable ear tips for a better fit, improved microphones, IPX4 protection against sweat and splashes, automatic switching between devices, support for Si and FindMy networks.

New batches of AirPods Pro of the 2nd generation are now also assembled at the factory in Vietnam. And the packaging of all headphones has a new design on the back of the packaging, which clearly shows the updated charging case.

After this update, a nightmare began in China’s counterfeit factories

By the way, according to some very logical rumors – Apple will re-release the wired EarPods, adding a USB-C connector, so that they can be used for iPads without adapters!

Headphones with USB-C are not the last accessory with this port, the company plans to reissue all products with support for this connector.

The Ministry of Digital Affairs of the Russian Federation also decided to oblige Apple to allow third-party application stores

USB-C ports, which Apple began to implement in its products after one of the laws of the European Commission, are not the only mandatory story. As a reminder, in the EU from 2024 a bill will enter into force, which obliges (including Apple) to allow the installation of applications from third-party stores and sources other than the AppStore. Also, the law from the EU specifies other requirements for opening access to NFC, Bluetooth and even voice assistant systems.

The Ministry of Digital Affairs of the Russian Federation decided to introduce a draft law completely similar to the European Digital Markets Act (DMA). However, in the case of the Ministry of Digital Affairs of the Russian Federation, it is only about installing the entire package of mandatory applications also by third-party methods with the help of third-party stores.

RuStore, NashStore and other Russian stores on iOS are still just a dream, which may well turn out to be unrealized

The project is in a hurry to be submitted for consideration already in the current session, believing that Apple will definitely implement this decision, but in fact its implementation remains a big question. And many questions to Apple. According to the latest rumors, this functionality will be launched only on devices for the European market, and the company itself does not officially sell the device in Russia from the spring of 2022. Functionality is expected already in iOS 17.

Apple has once again won the legal battle with Epic Games

One of the supporters of third-party stores on iOS – Epic Games, finally lost in court against Apple

On April 24, the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld an earlier ruling in November 2021, which found that Apple is not “a monopoly under either federal or state antitrust laws.”

Decision of the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on an appeal by Epic Games

Epic Games previously appealed the decision in the case against Apple to the court, in which they called for the decision to be reversed and sent for review, then they questioned the qualifications of Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, according to them, “the judge undermines reasonable antitrust policy and even violates established principles antimonopoly law”.

However, now the story is over. Epic Games’ appeal is rejected, the company must compensate Apple for all the costs it incurred as a result of the lawsuit.

Rumors: what will be new in iOS and iPadOS 17, what will be the main feature of watchOS 10, options for the name of the new macOS

There are more and more details and rumors about what will be new in the seemingly not the biggest update of iOS 17. Now this week it became known that the system will be supplemented with a number of interesting functions related to health.

According to rumors from Mark Gurman, the update will introduce a mood tracking feature that will allow users to track their emotions, answer questions about their day and see results over time.
Additionally, for the first time, the Health app will be available on iPadOS, giving users a larger screen to view their health metrics, EKG results, prescriptions, lab tests, and more. This step is aimed at increasing the popularity of the Health application in medical facilities where tablets are widely used. Apple also intends to implement new features to manage visual impairments such as myopia and color blindness.

The company is already working on a new AI-based training service, codenamed “Quartz,” that will encourage users to exercise, improve their eating habits, and improve their sleep patterns. The company does not forget about the functions of non-invasive glucose and blood pressure monitoring for the new generation WATCH.

The “Favorites” tab in the Health application will get a clearer interface with a tile design, where you can see all the main indicators on the screen at once, and if necessary, open the one you need to get complete information.

Wallet will get a search bar, separate tabs for cards and e-tickets, as well as a new bottom menu with sorting for cards, e-keys, IDs and package tracking.

And the wallpaper customization menu will receive a new 3×3 grid for more convenient navigation, changing the order and removing unnecessary ones. In addition, in single view mode, swiping up will allow you to duplicate and share wallpapers with the preservation of widgets and settings, as implemented with WATCH faces.

According to another rumor, iPadOS 17 will get a lock screen like iOS 16 – with widgets, picks and collections, depth effects and color styles, clock fonts, focus support and a wallpaper gallery.

Finally, the innovation from iOS 16 will reach the iPad!

The most important innovation of watchOS 10 will be widgets – the updated interface will be similar to the Siri watch face and the smart stack widget on iOS. Instead of launching apps directly, users will be able to scroll through a series of customizable widgets with all the information they need, called up by the WATCH side button. Also, the watch will be able to connect not only with iPhone, but also with iPad and even Mac!
