Rumors: New Apple headphones coming soon, what’s new in iOS 17 and who was shown Apple’s mixed reality headset

iOS 16.4 code has revealed data and support for the not-yet-released Beats Studio Buds+, which are expected to go on sale in the coming days.

The headphones in a refreshed form factor are expected to go on sale in the coming days

And also there in the code of iOS 16.4 – mention of AirPods with the model number A3048, as well as the charging case A2968 was found. Presumably, this is the 2nd generation AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case, which may be available separately, as was previously the case with the Wireless Charging Case for AirPods 2.

The story with the obligation to implement USB-C in the equipment has reached the requests, and it seems that it will be done very skillfully – by releasing a separate case for headphones

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the leaked AirPods model is most likely a version of the AirPods Pro 2 case with a USB-C port and they are expected in the coming months. But AirPods 3 are not planned to be released with USB-C, which can mean one thing – these headphones may be updated in the future.

According to rumors, Apple recently held an internal presentation of the mixed reality headset at a closed event at the Steve Jobs Theater for the company’s top executives. The product was not quite 100% ready and the engineers were not very happy with such an early demonstration of the product. In addition, according to rumors, the headset still does not have a ready-made package of software and programs for users who sell the product.

The expected release date of realityPRO is at WWDC23, the announcement of the conference dates is planned within a month

However, in general, everyone liked the presentation and the investors were satisfied. Similar product demonstrations have been held before, but this was the first time on this scale, which meant a certain readiness of the product before release. It is expected already in the summer at WWDC23.

Rumors from Mark Gurman: Apple has changed its original plan for iOS 17

iOS 17 is expected at the same time – at WWDC23 (the concept of the new system is shown in the image)

The new system was expected to contain nothing globally new. Now, according to the plan, iOS 17 will still be able to boast of several nice features. The goal of the new system, codenamed “Dawn”, will be to add several of the most requested features by users and expand the functionality for its other products (for example, Mac computers and mixed reality headsets).

Apple’s new patents for the future self-driving car

Apple has registered a number of patents for the Titan project – its own car, which has been developed in the bowels of the company for many years.

• A second patent has been registered for “intelligent fabrics” in combination with a “dynamic lighting system” that can be integrated already into the intelligent fabric seat, as well as the door, dashboard or other interior parts of the car. According to the described technology, the ambient light and the interior are thus provided directly by analogy with the TrueTone function and according to the user’s wishes.

• The third patent – relates to the form and functionality of the MagSafe wireless charging pad with backlight integrated into the same “intelligent materials”. According to the patent, such a wireless charger pad lights up at night to guide where you need to put the iPhone, so you don’t fumble in the dark trying to find a place and not distract you while driving, this whole circuit can be synchronized with the iPhone itself. In addition, this platform contains some kind of universal magnetic holder (aka MagSafe) and can be used for a cup, for example, in addition to a phone.

“Apple and China grew together and it was a symbiotic relationship. We have already done and will continue to do a lot of work, including within Apple’s supply chain in China. We also have an Apple Store in the country and an App Store developer ecosystem. We all need young people to learn critical thinking skills, to create and innovate. Apple plans to increase spending on its regional Chinese programming education program to 100 million yuan. We are honored to deepen our support for education in China and create opportunities for young learners in rural areas. The donation will go to primary and secondary school teachers, and it will support teachers in vocational classes. The goal is to better integrate digital technologies into learning. In fact, innovation in China is developing very quickly, and I believe it will accelerate even more,” said Tim Cook during his speech at the event.
