Apple launched the App Store for Vision Pro, but so far only for developers

App developers for Vision Pro report that Appe has launched a separate version of the App Store for the branded headset. Project statuses changed from Pending Apple Release to Ready for Sale and indexing began.

For now, only developers can access the App Store for Vision Pro. The feature will be available to all users only after the official release on February 2, 2024. The store is said to have opened early so reviewers in the US who received the helmet for review could test the Vision Pro.

At the start, applications adapted for visionOS and regular versions for iOS will be available to users. They will open in 2D mode and without support for the unique capabilities of Vision Pro. It is noted that existing applications can be transferred to visionOS without additional effort on the part of the developer. This ensures that most of the usual tools will already be available to one degree or another.

US users will be able to pre-order as early as January 19, 2024, and shipping will begin on February 2 of the same year. Apple also talked about the entertainment that will be available at the launch of the Vision Pro in its blog.
