Apple has published a list of original charging cables for Apple Watch

Apple has published a list of original Apple Watch charging cables. You can check the authenticity of chargers in your Mac settings.

The company recommends charging the Apple Watch only with chargers manufactured by itself or certified by Apple MFi. If you use a fake or uncertified charger, it can lead to a decrease in the speed of charging the battery and its wear.

Chargers manufactured by Apple must have the following model number markings:

• A2256
• A2257
• A2458

You can check the manufacturer of the charger using Mac:

  1. You need to connect the cable to the Mac;

  2. Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences, then select “General”;

  3. Click About > System Report > USB;

  4. Choose a charger, the information must be Apple Inc.

MFi-certified third-party chargers carry the Made for Apple Watch logo.
