An enthusiast tried to make an external convenient charger for the Apple Magic Mouse, but the design of the device does not allow it

An enthusiast and author of the YouTube channel Work From Hype tried to make a convenient external charger for an ergonomic version of the Apple Magic Mouse. After finishing work, he realized that it was in vain. In this case, the design of the device does not allow working with a mouse that has a charging port on the bottom side, since Apple decided that the mouse should not work when charging.

The latest versions of the Apple Magic Mouse have a charging port on the belly. They are supposed to be turned over and charged.

There are special adapters for the Magic Mouse on sale that allow you to make the Apple mouse more ergonomic and comfortable to use with your hand, but not on all surfaces. A mouse pad is required when using this gadget.

But these adapters do not allow you to charge the mouse without the need to turn the device upside down.

The user decided to modify such an adapter and add an external power cable to it.

It turned out not very convenient, but according to the author of the project, the fingers almost do not feel the external charging port.

After finalizing the adapter, the enthusiast connected the mouse to the computer. The device started to get infected.

It turned out that in this case the Apple Magic Mouse stops working and allows only charging the device. When the charging cable is disconnected, the mouse cursor comes to life.

As a result, the user decided to simply switch to Apple Magic Mouse and an ergonomic adapter. The enthusiast also added that there are other adapters for the Magic Mouse, such as one with a built-in wireless charging module, but they are not as comfortable for the hand.

The first Apple Magic Mouse was powered by two easily replaceable batteries. Newer versions of the Magic Mouse have switched to a built-in battery that takes time to charge, violating Apple’s motto that it always works.
