According to 9to5 mac.com, there are rumors that Apple will introduce several new iPads and a new MacBook Air in March.

There are only two Apple events held each year: WWDC in June and a special event in September for the new iPhones. Apple also sometimes holds a spring event in March or April, which usually focuses on Macs and iPads.

Here’s a rundown of Apple’s spring event history:

  • March 27, 2018: Let’s take a field trip event on education and the iPad.
  • March 25, 2019: It’s show tim event dedicated to services. In particular, Apple Card, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade.
  • April 20, 2021: Spring Loaded event with 24-inch iMac, AirTag, new iPad Pro and more.
  • March 8, 2022: Peak Performance event with new iPhone SE, Mac Studio, Studio Display and more.

What can Apple announce at the March event this year?

New iPad Pro and iPad Air

Let’s assume that Apple does hold an event this March. What new products might be announced? The stars of the show will almost certainly be the new iPad line, the production of which has already begun in Apple’s supply chain.

It is reported that the new iPad Air will be available for the first time in two screen sizes: 10.9 and 12.9 inches. The new iPad Pro will use OLED screens for the first time.

In addition to the new iPad Pro itself, Apple is also preparing a new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.

The new MacBook Air

In addition to the new iPad Pro and iPad Air, Apple is also working on a MacBook Air version.

As Bloomberg reports, the company is preparing new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models based on the M3 chip. This comes after the first M3 Macs debuted last fall in the form of new MacBook Pro and iMac upgrades.

Also, users are still waiting for M3 updates for Mac mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro.

In November, Bloomberg reported that Apple has not yet begun mass testing of the M3 Ultra chip, which will be used in updated versions of the Mac Studio and Mac Pro. Therefore, it is likely that the company will introduce updates to the Mac Pro and Mac Studio later this year.

A new iPhone color?

Another tradition that Apple has followed for the past few years is the spring launch of a new iPhone color.

  • April 2021: New purple color for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.
  • March 2022: New Alpine Green color for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, new Green color for iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini.
  • March 2023: New yellow color for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

Whether a mid-cycle color update is planned for the iPhone 15 is not yet known, but it could be a good reason to increase sales of these smartphones.

Launching Vision Pro in other countries?

While Vision Pro launched in the United States on February 2nd, users are still waiting for news on international expansion. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said he expects the news before WWDC in June, so an announcement at the March event certainly seems plausible.
