A private line for selected contacts will appear in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft has added a private calling feature to Teams. This tool will give users a second number that is only available to selected contacts. Microsoft Teams says that calls made to a user’s private line will have a unique message and ringtone, so they can’t be confused with regular calls.

As TechRadar explains, citing Microsoft 365’s “roadmap,” the feature will give users “a private second phone number that they can share with select contacts, who in turn can call them directly, bypassing administrators or assistants.” The feature will only support incoming calls.

The service is still under development, its implementation is planned for November 2023. Initially, after the release, it will be available only for the desktop version of Microsoft Teams, but in the future it will also appear in other versions of the program.

Private calls will be part of Microsoft Teams’ premium feature package, aimed at users who need an “elevated level of service.”

We will remind you that in February Microsoft released Microsoft Teams Premium. The application includes an updated personalized interface with support for GPT 3.5, conversation transcription and a “ready-made template” for calls, which makes it easier to set up.
