Short description

Summarize this content to 100 words We at K2Tech decided to conduct a study of the current situation on the market of data storage systems (DSD). And according to its results, it became clear that today companies of the enterprise segment are showing interest in Asian solutions, but still prefer Russian manufacturers for implementation. 10% of respondents noted that they have already started scaling their infrastructure using domestic solutions. 131 representatives of enterprise segment companies from 18 sectors of the Russian economy took part in our survey. His goal was to find out what strategies Russian companies are currently following and in favor of which decisions they are making their choice: Russian, Asian or Western.Market research has shown that 74% of companies are targeting both replacement and expansion of the existing database in connection with the growth of the amount of data stored. Therefore, companies are now actively considering all options available on the market. At the same time, 16% said that at this stage they are not ready to abandon the decisions on which they have historically built their IT infrastructure. The respondents named Dell EMC, IBM, HPE, NetApp, Huawei, and Hitachi among the main vendors of used SGS. They emphasized that they do not plan to migrate before the end of their service life, and therefore use service support services through IT partners or look for ways to purchase spare parts on their own. 10% of companies are already scaling their IT infrastructure with hardware and software solutions available on the Russian market. In the question about the acceptable alternatives of the existing SRS, we gave the respondents the opportunity to choose several answer options. As a result, 71% answered that they are considering the SGS of Russian vendors, including those included in the Unified Register of Russian Radio-Electronic Products. 61% are ready to resort to parallel imports in order to be able to continue to use the usual solutions and to acquire new models. And 58% are interested in offers from Asian vendors such as Maipu, Infortrend and QSAN. Only 19% of companies consider Russian SRS, foreign (using parallel import) – 13%. At the same time, 16% of companies find it difficult to choose between domestic and Asian SGDs. We closely monitor changes in the IT market, so the results of the conducted research only confirm our observations. The legislative initiative on import substitution of foreign components at all KII facilities stimulated the growth of demand for Russian solutions. As a result, customers began to make higher demands on domestic producers. All these factors together had a positive effect on both the functional development of Russian SRSs and the level of trust in them on the market. For example, among our customers, we are now increasingly observing interest in the Tatlin line of SGSs from the Yadro company, as well as software SGSs from BAUM, Aerodisk and other vendors. At the same time, in my opinion, the technological level of Asian SGBs is now higher than the domestic one. However, companies are not yet in a hurry to move from the stages of testing and piloting solutions to real implementations.First of all, this is due to the fact that SGDs of Asian manufacturers are not included in the Unified Register of Russian radio electronic products, and therefore do not fully meet the requirements of the regulator. Therefore, companies that do not have critical elements in the infrastructure are mostly interested in them. Secondly, Asian SGS are relatively new solutions for the Russian market, which do not have reference implementations with fixed performance indicators of the domestic IT landscape. And we see that customers now want to get as much information about these solutions as possible to make sure of their reliability. Recently, I wrote an article about how we tested the Chinese mid-range SGD from Maipu. So, after that, we started receiving requests from customers for its demonstration and testing already in their infrastructures.New peaks of technology are waiting for you in K2Tech Telegram channels
